LED: Office and Retail Complex, Singapore
Completed in 1977, the complex was designed with energy efficiency in mind. The core design of the complex incorporates cantilevered upper floors and recessed lower floors. At the heart of the building are naturally ventilated atriums and service shafts, innovative for its time. In areas where natural daylight is insufficient, the use of natural tone energy efficient LED lights provide the required illumination levels without adding additional heat load. This enables the building to remain true to its intended energy efficient design.
