LED: Recreational Hub, Singapore
Built in the 1800′s along the banks of the Singapore River, this entertainment and recreation hub was named after Sir Andrew Clarke, Singapore’s second Governor and Governor of the Straits Settlements from 1873 to 1875. Traditionally designed as a labyrinth of warehouses with intertwining streets, the area is now a pedestrian only zone. Warehouses have been converted to food and beverage outlets and the pedestrian streets are flanked by al fresco dining outlets. The careful use of energy efficient lighting has been adopted to line the streets, wash the walls and provide highlights to the unique umbrella-like shelters.
