Since its founding in 1886, this independent school located in the central west has become a landmark, well-known for its holistic education system. In an effort to allow their students to fully utilise the rugby field, Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) (ACS (I)) chose to employ IEQ IntelliNRG™ energy saving Plasma Floodlights to illuminate the field during the night.
Due to insufficient lighting in the past, students were unable to use the field after dark. Rather than turning to the traditional lighting options of metal-halide and special mercury vapour, the school decided to install fifteen 1000W IEQ IntelliNRG™ Plasma Floodlights, enabling the school to save substantial energy and operational costs of the field by more than 50% due to the energy efficiency of plasma lights. Resorts, hotels and motels across the world are guilty culprits of wasting most of their electricity on lighting. Experiencing extensive operation hours, heavy footfall, and high energy consumption as well as high carbon emissions, these places keep most, if not all, of their lights burning 24 hours a day. As a result, a substantial amount of electricity is wasted on lighting hallways, elevators, lobbies, and other gathering places in hotels that usually are not filled with people every hour of the day.
