Induction & LED: Commercial Airport, Singapore
Opened in 2006, this wing of a major air transportation hub in South Asia was built in response to the emerging trend of low cost carriers (LCCs). Seeing up to 7 million passengers annually, the 28,200 square metres terminal comprises of two adjacent single-storey buildings and is about the size of three football fields. In keeping with the needs and operating models of LCCs, the single-storey terminal has no travellators, escalators and aerobridges. In addition, the employment of energy efficient IEQ IntelliNRG™ Induction Lights contribute to lower operational costs by reducing overall energy consumption for lighting and air conditioning and diminishing maintenance costs.
